These
Terms and Conditions are an extract from the main Terms and Conditions available
from Work Experience UK.
Age Limits
Beneficiaries participating in Work Experience, internship or Paid Work Placement
Programmes must be aged 18 or over.
Students enrolling on to English Language Training Programmes as individuals
must be aged 18 or over.
Work Experience UK will accept groups of 10 or more students for English Language
Training Programmes that are aged between 16 and 18 years of age on the condition
that they are accompanied by a supervisory adult (1 adult for every ten students).
Nationality
Due to visa and work permit requirements, Beneficiaries participating in full-time
Work Experience, internship or Paid Work Placement Programmes must be a citizen
of a member state of the European Union.
Beneficiaries participating in English Language Training Programmes can be
of any nationality (see Visa Requirements below).
Beneficiaries participating in a hybrid English Training Programme with Work
Experience can be of any nationality (see Visa Requirements below).
Fees and Charges - Agreement
All fees and charges will be agreed in writing prior to any
Programme booking.
Bookings and Registrations
All Programme Bookings and Registrations must be on the agreed documentation.
If you do not have a specific agreement with Work Experience UK, then the
appropriate booking and Registration documentation presented on this Website
should be used.
Bookings and Registrations must reach us in good time to allow us to properly
plan and organise your Programme. The timescales are as follows:
For Work Experience, Internship and Work Placement Programmes - at least eight
weeks before your arrival in the United Kingdom.
For English Language Training Programmes - at least four weeks before your
arrival in the United Kingdom.
Discounts
Group Bookings - Additional discounts are available
for group bookings of 10 or more individuals.
Bring a Friend - Individuals can earn a discount
on their booking if they book direct and are accompanied by a friend paying
the full rates.
Contract
The receipt by Work Experience UK of a Booking or Registration form (either
those presented on this website or other agreed format) will be considered
a contract between us.
Invoicing
Work Experience UK will present an invoice within 24 hours of the formal booking
or registration form being received in our offices. This invoice will be sent
by email.
Where original paper copies of the invoice are required, an additional administration
charge will be levied and added to the original invoice.
Payment
All Bookings and Registrations must be accompanied with a booking fee of €50
per person.
All other fees and charges must be paid four weeks before the planned arrival
of the individual or group.
Late Payment
Where payment is not received by Work Experience UK within the agreed time
limits (as defined above), a late payment administration charge of €50 will
be charged, plus interest of 10% of the total agreed fees and charges.
Bank Charges
All bank charges relating to the booking or registration will be paid by you.
Where Bank charges ar levied on Work Experience UK for the transfer of funds
into our bank account, these will be charged in addition.
Cancellation
and Refunds
In the event that you have to cancel your chosen Programme, we will charge
you the following:
up to eight weeks before arrival - Loss of deposit only
Between six and eight weeks before arrival - 25% of all fees and charges
Between four and six weeks of arrival - 50% of all fees and charges
Between two and four weeks of arrival - 75% of all fees and charges
Within two weeks of arrival - 100% of all fees and charges
Travel to and within the United Kingdom
The organisation, management and payment of travel to and within the United
Kingdom not the responsibility of Work Experience UK. Work Experience UK will
meet the individual or group upon their arrival in the town in which they
will work or study.
Where Work Experience UK is asked to organise and manage such travel, this
will be agreed in writing in advance and charged as an additional service.
Arrival in the Town in which you will Work or Study
You are required to organise your travel to ensure that you
arrive in the town in which you will work or study between the hours of 0700
and 1900. Should you arrive outside of these hours,m you will be charged an
additional 'Out of Hours Meet and Greet' Fee of €50 per person.
Insurance
All Students and Beneficiaries must possess appropriate insurance that covers
any medical, health and repartiation needs, plus their personal possessions.
Work Experience UK is not responsible for the organisation or payment of such
insurance costs.
Where Work Experience UK is asked to organise and pay for insurance, this
will be agreed in writing in advance and charged as an additional service.
A copy of the appropriate insurance certificates must be passed to Work Experience
UK prior to the arrival of the individual or group.
Work Experinece and Internships
Work Experience and Internship Placements are organised in accordance with
the information provided on the Registration Form (and other supporting documentation)
completed and submitted by the Beneficiary.
Where a Work Experience or Internship Placement is not appropriate to the
needs of the Beneficiary because of an error on the part of Work Experience
UK, an alternative Work Experience or Internship Placement will be organised
at no additional cost to the Beneficiary.
Where a Work Experience or Internship Placement is not appropriate to the
needs of the Beneficiary because the information provided by the Beneficiary
to Work Experience UK was misleading or otherwise inaccurate, Work Experience
UK will attempt to organise an alternative Work Experience or Internship Placement,
although no guarantee is offered that an alternative will be found in this
case. Where an additional Work Experience or Internship Placement is found,
Work Experience UK reserve the right to charge an additional Organisation
and Management Fee.
Paid Work Placements
Paid Work Placements are organised in accordance with the information provided
on the Registration Form (and other supporting documentation) completed and
submitted by the Beneficiary.
Where a Work Placement is not appropriate to the needs of the Beneficiary
because of an error on the part of Work Experience UK, an alternative Work
Placement will be organised at no additional cost to the Beneficiary.
Where a Work Placement is not appropriate to the needs of the Beneficiary
because the information provided by the Beneficiary to Work Experience UK
was misleading or otherwise inaccurate, Work Experience UK will attempt to
organise an alternative Work Placement, although no guarantee is offered that
an alternative will be found in this case. Where an additional Work Placement
is found, Work Experience UK reserve the right to charge an additional Organisation
and Management Fee.
Pay and Remuneration for Placements
Work Experinece and Internship Programmes are not paid positions.
Paid Work Placements are offered at the United Kingdoms National Minimum Wage,
which is between £3.50 and £4.50 per hour depending on age.
Hours of Work for all Work Experience, Internship and Paid Work
Placement Programmes
The number of hours of work offered to the Beneficiary by the
Work Placement Provider cannot be guaranteed by Work Experience UK, however
Work Experience UK will endeavour to secure placements that have a minimum
of 37.5 hours per week.
Beneficiaries must be aware that the actual hours they work will be determined
by the company in which they work and Work Experience UK has no control over
this aspect of the Programme.
Level of English for all Placement Programmes
Students and Beneficiaries coming to the United Kingdom on a Work Experience,
Internship or Paid Work Placement Programme must have a level of English that
is of 'Intermediate' level. This means that Students and Beneficiaries
should be able to hold a reasonable conversation in English, and be capable
of reading and writing simple, non-technical documents.
Where a Student or Beneficiary arrives in the United Kingdom and their level
of English is not appropriate, they may be required to attend an English Language
Training Programme at an additional cost.
Where the level of English is so poor that the Work Placement Provider is
unwilling to accept the Student or Beneficiary into their company, Work Experience
UK will endeavour to find an alternative placement, but this cannot be guaranteed.
Where an alternative placement is found under the se circumstances, Work Experience
UK reserve the right to charge an Organisation and Management Fee.
