Without a doubt
the most important element of all of our Work Experience, Work Placement,
Internship and Language Training Programmes is the welfare and safety of the
Students and Beneficiaries staying with us.
For many of the Beneficiaries that come to the United Kingdom on these Programmes,
it is their first time away from home, let alone the first time they have
visited another country.
The combination of a new country, new culture and new language can lead to
difficulties that, if not supported in the right way, can lead to a breakdown
in the programme and result in either an unhappy Beneficiary, or ultimately
an individual that simply wants to go home.

Our job when
it comes to the health, safety and wellbeing of the Beneficiaries in the UK
on our Programmes is to ensure that this does not happen.
It is our objective that at the end of every Programme, the Student or Beneficiary
returns to their home country having enjoyed their Programme, achieved their
objectives and in possession of an improved CV. We do not want them to have
an unhappy experience; we do not want to fail them!
To ensure that we get this right, and achieve our objectives, every Work Experience
UK office has a dedicated Beneficiary Welfare Officer responsible for ensuring
the health, safety and wellbeing of all students and Beneficiaries in the
UK on a Work Experience UK Programme.
When Students and Beneficiaries arrive in the United Kingdom, we provide them
with information about living and studying in the UK, and put them through
a comprehensive orientation programme that is designed specifically to make
them aware of the issues that may affect their health, safety and wellbeing
whilst in the UK.
Work Experience UK provides a 24 hour a day, 365 day a year welfare support
infrastructure! Every Student and Beneficiary is provided with appropriate
contact telephone numbers which are manned 24 hours a day.
In addition, Work Experience UK has contracted with medical service providers
in every town in which we operate so that Beneficiaries can get appropriate
medical attention whenever they need it.
The Welfare
Officers are also responsible for all liaison between Work Experience UK,
the Student or Beneficiary, the Agent or Partner and Beneficiaries next of
kin for all issues relating to welfare.
In addition to the Welfare Officers, all of our Accommodation Providers have
received training from Work Experience UK in the processes implemented within
Work Experience UK that relate to Beneficiary Welfare.
Also, to support our Welfare Officers, we have also developed relationships
with a network of other appropriate organisations, including local Social
Services, counseling services and various crisis support organisations.
